Provincial Judges of Manitoba to Host National Conference

Posted on June 10, 2014

The Canadian Association of Provincial Court Judges (CAPCJ) represents provincial and territorial judges in Canada.  Every year CAPCJ holds an education conference for its judges, hosted by member organizations.  This year it is Manitoba’s turn to host.  The conference will be held in Winnipeg from September 17th – 20th.

The theme of CAPCJ Conference 2014 is Criminalizing Social Issues:  A Human Rights Crisis.  Our conference will look at the justice system’s treatment of chronic offenders, issues of mental health, poverty, literacy and addiction and will discuss innovative ways of delivering justice to marginalized people.  The planning committee has been planning this event for the last few years and are looking forward to hosting our colleagues from across the country.
