September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a solemn day for reflection on the painful legacy of Canada’s residential schools and a time to honour survivors, their families, and those who never returned home. While September 30 is a special day of observance, we acknowledge that the work of reconciliation is an ongoing and year‑round commitment.
As September 30, 2023 falls on a Saturday, the Manitoba Courts will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Monday, October 2, 2023, and will not be sitting on that day. Court offices will continue to operate on a usual statutory holiday basis, with Judicial Justices of the Peace services available.
